Previously known as Sharjah Grand Hotel, Occidental Grand Sharjah is delighted to officially announce its highly anticipated reopening, launching an exciting new chapter in the iconic property's rich heritage and history. A property operated by Barceló Hotel Group, a leading international hotel chain, Occidental Grand Sharjah is now welcoming guests and visitors, following the hotel's complete restoration and complemented with the implementation of the highest standards of health and safety as per Barceló´s signature We Care About You programme.
The property is fully redesigned to reinvent with sleek details, spacious designs, and bright, neutral hues reminiscent of the beachside. From the rooms and facilities to the lobby and outdoor public areas, designers have created a refreshing haven that delivers a captivating mix of culture and modernity.
Néstor Del Toro Benitez, Director and General Manager at Occidental Grand Sharjah, comments, "We are very excited to be reopening the iconic property and officially returning to the market refreshed and revitalized. Our legendary property opens its doors to those looking for a home away from home and a sanctuary of relaxation within the busy city. After a very difficult year, we are looking forward to welcoming new and loyal guests to the newly revamped space at Occidental Sharjah Grand."
Originally opened in 1977 as Sharjah Grand Hotel, the hotel is a renowned central landmark that holds a legacy that is unique and unforgettable. Located in an exclusive area of Sharjah and home to sweeping views of the Arabian Gulf, the property is set to offer guests new levels of unrivalled comfort and exceptional hospitality with the redefined spaces.
As part of the revamped strategy for the property, Occidental Sharjah Grand will be rolling out a dedicated "#LivingSharjah" programme. The initiative is aimed to engage with Sharjah’s residents and local authorities to promote the city as a business and leisure destination for local residents and international travellers.
Guests are treated to range of delightful dining options–the all-day dining eatery Meena, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner; La Bamba, which is located right on the beach and serves authentic Mediterranean grills; or La Terrace, a cozy café with panoramic sea views.
