Miraval The Red Sea has opened its doors on Saudi Arabia’s west coast on Shura Island, marking the debut of Hyatt’s Luxury portfolio brand outside the United States.
Set between desert and water, surrounded by mangrove forests that extend to the sea, the adults-only retreat introduces the Miraval signature blend of mindfulness and intentional wellness to Saudi Arabia.
Rooted in the brand’s 30-year philosophy of mindful living, Miraval’s guiding principle of empowering guests to ‘live a life in balance’ is thoughtfully expressed through elements of Saudi heritage, creating an experience that feels both distinctly Miraval and authentically connected to place.
Miraval The Red Sea features 180 guestrooms, suites and villas seamlessly integrated into the island’s landscape of lagoons and mangroves. Designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group, Miraval The Red Sea draws inspiration from the natural environment in both form and materiality.
A diverse programme of wellbeing experiences invites guests to engage with expert Experience Planners to design their own personalised itineraries drawn from an extensive menu of signature Miraval experiences and mindful practices that reflect the cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia and the broader region.
At the heart of the resort is the Life in Balance Spa, a 40,000-square foot haven, the largest dedicated spa on Shura Island. With 39 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, it’s a serene sanctuary where Miraval signature therapies are enriched by Saudi traditions, such as Hamman bathing rituals and desert-inspired scrubs and treatments, creating a deeply restorative journey, grounded in balance and renewal.
At Miraval The Red Sea, a carefully considered culinary philosophy comes to life, with seasonal menus reflecting a commitment to nourishment and balance. Rosemary, the signature restaurant, offers a plant-forward menu built around fresh, seasonal ingredients. Palm Court Café offers lighter, more spontaneous moments, while Coral Cove shifts as the day unfolds, from relaxed coastal dining to social connections in the evening, with tapas and sharing plates on offer. The Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen hosts hands-on workshops blending culture, heritage and wellbeing, from Saudi coffee rituals and non-alcoholic mixology to mindful sushi-making and locally inspired tastings that connect guests to the region through flavour and storytelling.
Miraval The Red Sea is part of The Red Sea destination, one of the world's most ambitious regenerative tourism developments spanning more than 28,000 km² of coastline, islands, desert and mountains. With visitor numbers capped at 1 million a year across the destination, The Red Sea is committed to preserving and enhancing its extraordinary natural environment. As Shura Island, the heart of The Red Sea, continues to evolve, upon completion it will become home to a collection of world-class resorts, marinas, lifestyle and leisure facilities, as well as Kingdom’s first 18-hole island championship golf course, Shura Links.
“Miraval The Red Sea has been thoughtfully designed as a place of transformation,” said Juan Paolo Alfonso, General Manager, Miraval The Red Sea. “Every element of the guest journey has been created to support deeper connection, presence, and personal growth, while embracing the traditions, landscapes, and cultural richness of the region. Opening the first Miraval destination outside of the U.S. in Saudi Arabia is both a privilege and a responsibility, and we are proud to introduce a wellness experience that reflects the Kingdom’s extraordinary natural heritage and resonates with the region’s longstanding spirit of hospitality, setting a new global standard for mindful luxury.”
