Rotana, a leading hotel management company in the Mena region, Rotana, is participating at the ITB in Berlin for the fourth year in a row to strengthen its position and brand awareness in key markets such as the UK and Germany.
Commenting on this participation, Imad Elias, executive vice president and COO for Rotana said: “We will be exhibiting at the ITB amongst a large number of International and high profile companies and the major Middle East tourism boards.
“Due to our strong presence in the Middle East and our established contacts in Berlin, we are witnessing a constant increase in German-based customers. A lot of emphasis is put on developing this market further. Our participation at ITB will strengthen our presence and will definitely support Rotana’s expansion plans.”
Since inception, the company has grown to be the region’s largest hospitality management company and a brand that is widely recognised and much admired.
He added: “Rotana is geared towards another challenging year as we continue to develop. The expansion is taking us into new markets such as Bahrain, Baghdad, Jordan, Oman, Iraq, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
“For the next four years, Rotana will open 10 hotels per year. The plan is right. The strategy is there. The execution and know-how are there. The objective is clear. Rotana is positive that as long as the company is able to manage growth in an efficient way, then there is the scope to take up further properties.”
Earlier this year saw the opening of Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, Dubai, UAE’s latest landmark which is certified as the tallest hotel in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The second quarter of 2010 will see the opening of Rotana’s first resort in Dubai, Amwaj Rotana and Centro Barsha, Rotana’s first property to open in Dubai under the brand Centro Hotels by Rotana, following the opening of Centro Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Located on Jumeirah beach, Amwaj Rotana will be part of the new Jumeirah Beach Residence complex consisting of 301 deluxe rooms and suites, flexible and multipurpose ballroom and meeting rooms and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

The 246-room Centro Barsha, Dubai is conveniently located close to the business districts of Media City and Internet City and features a lobby lounge abuzz with activity and designed to provide a number of informal zones for business gatherings and entertainment. Advanced business facilities are built into every room with high speed Wi-Fi internet access.
Fujairah Arjaan by Rotana will open in June 2010, the hotel is situated in the picturesque emirate of Fujairah offering 252 rooms, meeting rooms, an all-day dining restaurant and a café. It will also feature a rooftop swimming pool and an extensive gym.
August 2010 will see the opening of the 300-room Centro Sharjah Airport.
Moving to the capital, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana will open its doors mid-April 2010. Situated on the beautiful shores of the Arabian Gulf, this fabulous alcohol-free city resort is only 30 minutes drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport and a few minutes from one of the largest malls in the capital. The property will feature 443 luxurious rooms, suites and serviced apartments, outstanding food and beverage venues, six meeting rooms, business facilities, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and extensive watersport activities on one of the country’s most stunning beaches.
The company’s first property in Qatar, the Oryx Rotana – Doha, will open in June 2010 and will be located close to Doha International Airport, five minutes from the city centre and corporate district and 20 minutes from the diplomatic area and exhibition centre. The 400-room, four-star hotel will offer a wide variety of food and beverage venues, ballrooms and flexible meeting rooms, state-of-the art business services and a fitness centre.
Also in Doha, City Centre Rotana will open at the end of 2010 offering 300 luxurious rooms and suites and 100 serviced apartments along with four food and beverage outlets, meeting rooms, state-of-the art business services and a fitness centre.
And lastly Erbil Rotana – Iraq is scheduled to open towards the end of 2010. A five-star the Erbil is ideally located close to the ministries area and near Erbil International Exhibition Fair in the Iraqi Kurdistan region. The property will feature 201 luxurious rooms and suites, five food and beverage venues and complete recreational areas including Bodylines health and fitness club and a swimming pool.
