The new look Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa with its 236 rooms will open during this winter following a complete refurbishment costing more than $35 million.
“Scheduled to open during Winter 2008 - 2009, the revamped Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa set in the ‘the world’s greatest open air museum’, Luxor, will feature the city’s first world class spa,” said Simon Hasdell, vice president of operations, Hilton Hotels, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and North Africa.
“Luxor contains nearly one third of the world’s antiquities. There is hardly a place in Luxor without a relic that reflects the greatness of ancient Egypt’s 7,000 yearold civilisation. Impressed by its magnificent and huge edifices the Arabs called it Luxor, “the city of Palaces”, and Homer described it as “the city of one hundred gates,” enthused Hasdell.
“Alongside Luxor’s natural grandeur and magnificence, the 236 room world class resort and spa will have a very fresh and contemporary look, and we will be able to maintain our commitment to our guests by providing quality accommodation, outstanding facilities and superior service.”
The newly renovated Hilton Worldwide Resort will offer guests a wider view of the river Nile with its open and spacious landscape. The lobby area will be enlarged to feature a separate check-in reception for groups, and a lounge in addition to a variety of food and beverage outlets, and an exclusive section for deluxe rooms. The spectacular spa will have its own entrance separate from the main resort, with its own spa suites, and treatment rooms. In addition, there will be a dedicated lounge and sun deck relaxation area, as well as an infinity relaxation pool.
The variety of outlets will include the Sunset Lounge and terrace overlooking the River Nile which offers drinks and snacks, as well as Rosetta, the resort’s main dining venue with indoor and outdoor seating. The resort will continue to offer an unforgettable dining experience on a Felucca – a traditional sailing boat – with catered meals upon request.
'As the newest addition to the collection of Hilton resorts around the world, the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa offers an array of upscale amenities and personalised services in a magnificent setting,' said Azza Serry, senior director of business development, Hilton Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan & Africa. 'This exciting new resort will reinforce the Hilton philosophy that travel should be relaxing, pampering and invigorating.”
