Throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, a sumptuous Iftar buffet will be served on the outdoor terraces of Splendido. All nationalities are invited to view the sunset and then savour traditional Arabian fayre for Dh95 ($26) per person. From 9pm to 2am, the floodlit gardens around the pools offer live cooking stations and shisha. These have gained tremendous popularity among all nationalities. Traditionally, men will sit together drinking coffee and smoking shisha after dinner, while playing backgammon or chess. An enormous buffet will be available at Splendido with many traditional dishes and beverages for Dh140 per person. November also brings popular theme nights around the Mediterranean-style pool and Gulf Pavilion restaurant. This open air, beachfront location plays host to a variety of lavish buffets, barbecues and clambakes, each night having its own special theme. Wednesday night the menu features the best of Asian dishes, whilst on Thursday evenings the theme is Mediterranean seafood and a family barbecue is served on Friday. The Gulf Pavilion theme nights are priced Dh110 per person.
