REED Exhibitions, organisers of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) and the World Travel Market, have invested in a new regional office in Dubai, to further its growth, according to a statement.
“The Middle East is one of the fastest growing global exhibition markets and will be home to some of the world’s most modern exhibitions facilities in the near future,” said Tom Nutley, chairman, Reed Travel Exhibitions, which is part of Reed Exhibitions.
He said developments such as the new Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company and Dubai World Central’s Exhibition City, ensure that region can host top industry events across various vertical segments while attracting increased numbers of exhibitors and visitors.”
From its Dubai office, RTE will primarily service the ATM, which moves to the stewardship of Briton Mark Walsh, RTE group exhibition director. Walsh, 44, takes over from Chris Chackal who has left the company to pursue career opportunities elsewhere.
Speaking about the new Dubai office, Walsh said, “We have been operating in the region for more than a decade with an on-ground presence for more than two years. This move will help RTE forge stronger relationships with our regional exhibitors - some of who have been with us since the first show – as well as our event partners, with whose support the ATM has become such a successful event.”
RTE’s UAE sales manager Lloyd Kenyon will be based in the Dubai office with more staff expected soon. ATM will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 1 to 4.
