At the beginning of 2000 the residents-only Le Meridien Limassol gave itself a new name: Le Meridien Limassol Spa & Resort.
A name intended to reflect the changes at the hotel and the investment in its new spa facilities.
Moreover, it was a name better suited to this self contained luxury resort that was designed with the goal of putting the hotel and Cyprus itself firmly on the map of the world of spa destinations.
After only a few weeks in operation world spa experts visited and nominated ‘Le Spa’ as one of the world’s best newcomers.
Le Spa has been voted by travel agents around the world as Europe’s Leading Spa Resort, said a spokesperson.
The development covers 3,000 sq m and includes four outdoor and three indoor seawater pools, each with a different salinity content and temperature, a Hammam, steam bath, saunas, whirlpools and 32 treatment rooms staffed by experienced beauticians, hairdressers, specialists in Thalassotherapy treatments and massage plus an in-house doctor.
The whole of Le Spa is surrounded by another free form fresh water pool featuring waterfalls and grottoes and the largest seawater pool on the island.
Overlooking Le Spa is the new Royal Spa Wing which is only for adults and offers 18 superior rooms, six cabanas with private jacuzzis and four royal suites with views of the pools and the grounds.
The uniqueness of ‘Le Spa’ has much to do with the Thalassotherapy treatments themselves, as the sea is the source of most of the relaxation and rejuvenating treatments. The treatments are for men and women and address the body and mind, aesthetics and health.
The sea and its organisms are a generous supplier of mineral salts, amino acids, vitamins and other elements which offer undisputed remedies for numerous skin and circulation disorders and also help restore biological equilibrium. But, on top of the benefits of Thalassotherapy is the high quality of the treatments available at Le Spa which help people escape from their busy schedules and simply relax.
The views of the Mediterranean are omnipresent and the resort’s directors and managers travelled the world looking for the best ideas to combine with the best at home, said the spokesperson.
There is a choice of 106 different treatments and 28 Thalgo and Elemis packages to choose from and they include the Fitness and Wellness Week, the Anti-Stress Week, the Weight Control Week, Equilibrium Purity, the Journey Indulgence, the Sensory Heaven and the Essential Vitality.
A typical programme includes a medial evaluation, supervised Thalassotherapy programme sea oil treatment, different kinds of massages, facials, mud treatments and thalasso-wraps.
Visitors are taken care of at all levels and while the primary market is from overseas for the one week packages, the Cypriot market has not been neglected as Le Spa is appealing to persons who want to have a two day/one night midweek break, said the spokesperson
