Taj eyes Levant market

The Taj Palace Hotel in Dubai aims to get a slice of the growing corporate and leisure market from Egypt and the Levant region.

The hotel is making its debut at this month's MTF in Cairo with the hope of increasing its market share from Egypt.

"This region has grown so much in recent years and we deem it important to get a slice of the potential from this area," said Taj Palace marketing services manager Bessie Salomon.

She said the hotel will be offering special tour operator rates as part of its marketing efforts at the MTF.

The hotel will also be "encouraging corporate travel movement to Dubai by offering them special offers on rooms and meeting facilities packages", said Salomon.

She said Taj Palace has recorded satisfying results over the past year, posting average occupancy levels of 75 per cent during the year which have jumped to 84 per cent during the two month Dubai Summer Surprises which ended last month.

"This year we are expecting a very good winter season," she said.
