SWITZERLANDThe five-star Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona, located on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Switzerland, offers its guests the chance to become a helicopter pilot for a day during their stay this summer. A helicopter will shuttle guests from Locarno-Magadino Airport to the training centre at the former military airfield in San Vittore, where they will be given a tour of the hanger before a professional pilot teaches them everything they need to know about the theory and practice of flying a helicopter. This will be followed by a 60-minute round trip during which the guests will have the chance to pilot the helicopter themselves for 30 minutes. After completing their maiden flight, pilots will be awarded a certificate before toasting their success with a glass of bubbles. The offer can be booked until October 31 this year and costs CHF2,200 ($2,460) for one or two participants or CHF2,600 ($2,900) for three or four participants.If heights make you uncomfortable go for a splash in Lake Maggiore.
