AlUla, an oasis of culture and ancient civilisation in northwest Arabia, has won two top titles at this year’s edition of the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) held in Dubai.
Judges at the
prestigious media industry event named AlUla’s ‘History Awakens’ campaign, part
of the annual Ancient Kingdoms Festival, as the year’s Best Travel, Tourism
& Hospitality Campaign, with the AlUla ‘Instagram Creators Summit’
presented with the Gold award in the ‘Best Stunt, Live Event’ category.
A central element in
AlUla’s long-running Ancient Kingdoms Festival, ‘History Awakens’ was a unique
destination influencer campaign that achieved remarkable results, reaching 217
million people across 21 countries and spurring 91% increase in ticket sales to
the festival itself, successfully attracting visitors beyond the event’s
traditional audience of history enthusiasts.
Organised in
partnership with Meta, the ‘Instagram Creators Summit’ brought together 43 of
the region’s most influential creators. Those participating in the three-day
summit shared AlUla’s unique culture, history and line-up of incredible
experiences with a combined audience of 206 million followers across social
media.
Held at Atlantis
Dubai, the awards were presented to team members from Burson, the global
communications agency that helps to share the story of northwest Arabia’s
culture and heritage with a global audience, alongside partners from AlUla. -TradeArabia News Service
