This coming February–March 2026, Abu Dhabi will welcome visitors to a season of tradition, culture, and community during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Building on the success of its 2025 Ramadan programme, which brought residents and visitors together through authentic dining experiences, cultural activations, and family-friendly offers, the emirate is preparing an even richer line-up for 2026 that will highlight the unique experiences on offer during the month.

Ramdan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, during which Muslims around the world fast between sunrise and sunset as an act of worship. Throughout Ramadan, Abu Dhabi comes alive with unique cultural and dining experiences that give endless opportunities for visitors to embrace the spirit of Ramadan and make lasting memories.

Showcasing Emirati hospitality

Food plays a central role in Abu Dhabi during Ramadan. Throughout the day, restaurants and cafés across the emirate welcome guests with a wide variety of international cuisines alongside authentic Emirati flavours. As evening falls, the dining scene becomes even more vibrant, with special Iftar menus, chef collaborations, and pop-up experiences that celebrate both heritage and innovation. For culinary travellers, Ramadan is one of the most rewarding times to experience the emirate’s hospitality.

Visitors can join Iftar experiences across luxury hotels, desert resorts, and community tents, where Emirati hospitality is expressed through the sharing of dates, gahwa (Arabic coffee), and traditional dishes. Suhoor under the stars in the desert provides a serene and spiritual connection to nature, while lively Ramadan markets and villages showcase handicrafts, seasonal flavours, and cultural performances that appeal to families and international travellers alike.

The season also features storytelling evenings, live oud music, children’s workshops, and heritage exhibitions at venues such as Qasr Al Hosn and the Cultural Foundation. Everyone can enjoy the added festivities that the destination has to offer during the month, with the opportunity to make deeper connections with the local culture.

Family-friendly events

Ramadan is also a time for families, and Abu Dhabi ensures every generation feels welcome. Ramadan 2026 will once again include family-friendly promotions such as Kids Go Free and tailored all-inclusive stays, making it easier for parents to plan memorable trips. Wellness retreats in luxury resorts will complement this with opportunities for reflection, meditation, and spiritual healing, blending modern comfort with age-old traditions.

Abu Dhabi offers an unmatched setting for travellers seeking meaning and connection during Ramadan. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque stands as a symbol of peace and reflection, welcoming visitors from around the world to learn more about Islamic traditions. At Louvre Abu Dhabi, striking architecture and global exhibitions provide opportunities for inspiration and contemplation, while historic fort Qasr Al Hosn, which incorporates the city’s oldest standing structure, tells the story of the emirate’s remarkable transformation from a pearl-diving settlement into a modern metropolis. Alongside these landmarks, the Cultural Foundation and the House of Artisans offer windows into the emirate’s heritage of creativity and craftsmanship.

Abu Dhabi invites all to connect with culture, community, and tradition this Ramadan. From unique cultural experiences to vibrant iftars and suhoors, the emirate is the perfect destination to embrace the spirit of the season, with even more to see, do, enjoy and discover as Abu Dhabi lights up with Ramadan festivities.
