Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) is opening three hotels in Abu Dhabi by the middle of next year, with plans to manage other hotels in the UAE, a report said.

"The four-star property developments in Abu Dhabi are underway and we are looking at some of the other emirates too," Peter E Cardnell, ADNH director-general, said.

Some properties are to be managed by an international brand while others will come under ADNH's Al Diar management, he said, without disclosing the names of the international brands or the total investment outlay.

Currently, ADNH has four hotels in the capital under international management - Le Meridien, Sheraton, Hilton Abu Dhabi and Hilton Al Ain. Some 12 hotels are operating under the Al Diar management.

The company earned a net profit of Dh160 million ($43.5 million) for 2000.
