July, August and September are the period of Monsoon in India, where the countryside and the city of Udaipur transform into brimming lakes and lush green countryside. This is the time when peacocks dance, unfurling their plumage upon sight of dark clouds and rain.
The Oberoi Udaivilas was rated best hotel in the world according to a poll carried out among readers of Travel and Leisure magazine, where hotels across the world were evaluated on characteristics ranging from accommodation and service to location.
In the same survey two other Oberoi hotels in India, The Oberoi Amarvilas and The Oberoi Rajvilas were rated the 10th and 11th best hotels in the world.
According to P.R.S. Oberoi, chairman, this accolade was a significant landmark for Indian tourism, while the editor-in-chief of Travel and Leisure, Nancy Novogrod said that this year's results underlined the expansion of global travel as people searched for farther afield for distinctive and authentic experiences.  She added, “The extraordinary rise of India among the top hotels and resorts in the world is one sure reflection of this tendency.”
Wildflower Hall, Shimla in the Himalayas, is one of the group’s spa resorts. It features 85 rooms furnished with fireplaces, Burmese teak, tufted sofas, marquetry tables and oriental carpets. Yoga classes, Himalayan views and Ayurvedic therapies are all on offer.
The Oberoi Group has outlined an extensive plan to enhance its present network of 32 hotels and luxury cruiser in five countries.  Besides hotels in Morocco, Abu Dhabi and Oman, the group is also planning hotels in Bhutan, The Maldives, Cambodia and five additional hotels in India.
