The Cyprus Tourism Organisation reports that the total number of tourist arrivals for 2007 will reach over 55,000 people, and that for 2008 the target would be to have a 10 per cent increase in this number, according to Vassilis Theocharides, director Cyprus Tourism Organisation.
“The new initiates in store for the new year will be more joint campaigns with airlines flying to Cyprus across the ME,” he said. The tourism organisation found that the biggest appeal for tourists is that Cyprus is the closest European destination that offers a great variety of holiday options for short breaks.
The organisation offers information, and support in terms of marketing for joint campaigns, and Theocharides welcomed agents and tour operators to use their Middle East and Arabian Gulf office at Al Ghurair Center in Dubai as an extension for their operations when selling Cyprus.
