Royal Wings gets new Airbus 320
ROYAL Jordanian Group subsidiary Royal Wings has taken delivery of a modern 168-seat all-economy Airbus A320, the first aircraft to join its fleet.

According to the new strategy that was adopted by Royal Jordanian Group in May of 2005, the charter flights operation of the Group has been transferred to Royal Wings, while the previously operated regular routes by Royal Wings on the turbo propeller Dash-8 aircraft, have been transferred to Royal Jordanian Airline. The strategy of the airline includes the addition of other two Airbus 320 aircraft to the Royal Wings fleet over the next three years.

Embraer sells three Phenoms to ME
BRAZILIAN aircraft maker Embraer said United Aviation had agreed to buy three executive jets, making the Kuwait-based carrier the launch customer of its new Phenom family of business jets in the Middle East. The order, worth $33.1 million at list prices, is for one Phenom 100 and a Phenom 300, and a Legacy 600.

Emirates to fly Beijing
EMIRATES will launch a daily direct flight between Dubai and Beijing from September 1, the company said. This will be the carrier's third direct flight to China, in addition to its current direct services to Shanghai and Hong Kong. The airline recently announced new compli-mentary baby stroller service (right) for its passengers travelling with infants through Dubai airport. No other airline offers this service free of cost.

Jazeera double Dubai flights
KUWAITI national carrier Jazeera Airways began twice daily flights to Dubai on July 1, 2006, coinciding with the entry of brand new Airbus A320s into service. Jazeera Airways chairman and CEO said, “last October we launched our operations with daily flights to Dubai, and today Dubai is part of our history again for being the first city we fly to twice a day.”

NY six times daily for Virgin
VIRGIN Atlantic has launched a sixth daily service from London Heathrow to New York. The VS025 will be operated by an A340-600 and will depart London Heathrow at 18.00 and arrive in JFK at 21.00 the same day. The VS026 departs from JFK at 07.30 arriving into London Heathrow at 19.10. The airline has just launched its own credit card, with partners American Express and MBNA Europe Bank.

Malaysia Airlines now does Bahrain
MALAYSIA Airlines has started operations to Bahrain, becoming the 38th international airline to operate to the kingdom. Malaysia Airlines will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays, using the modern Airbus A330 aircraft. It will operate on the Kuala Lumpur-Bahrain-Dubai- Kuala Lumpur sectors. Malaysia Airlines vice president for Middle East and Africa Halimy Mahmood said earlier this year that 17 flights would be operated from Kuala Lumpur to Bahrain between today and September 1.
