THESE are busy times at the Sheraton Dammam Hotel & Towers in Saudi Arabia.

After two years of major renovation and refurbishment, a programme that has focused on all corners of the hotel at a cost of SR100 million, the hotel is now planning to open a host of the best restaurants for the Eastern Province.
Both corporate guests and families choose to stay at this handsome city centre hotel which is located close to the Corniche and has panoramic, sparkling sea views. Dammam’s thriving business district is nearby as are shopping malls, exhibition centres, the football and sports stadiums. Aramco and Al Khobar are a short drive away and the Sheraton Dammam is the closest five-star hotel to King Fahad International Airport.
As well as devoting time and consideration into re-designing the private and public rooms, the management team have put much thought into the themes of their new restaurants too, says a hotel spokesman. “There will be something for everyone, whatever their palettes may prefer.”
Opening this month, Café Vienna is set to be the most fashionable meeting place in town, a chic European style café serving a rich selection of cakes, pastries, light snacks and coffee. With the daily newspapers and internet connections available from 7am until early the next day.
Asahi Pan-Asian restaurant is opening in July and will prepare the best fresh Chinese, Thai and Japanese delicacies. It will be located on top of the Sheraton Tower with magnificent views of the coast and the city skyline and will be open for lunch and dinner.
Fayrouz will serve the region’s best Lebanese and Mediterranean-styled dishes, at breakfast, lunch buffet or a la carte and dinner. On the ground floor level with cool views of the gardens and outdoor swimming pool, there will be a family brunch buffet on Friday where guests can enjoy the chefs’ expert culinary skills.
Fayrouz is scheduled to open for business in August, as is Da Vinci, an authentic Italian pizza and pasta trattoria that is being furnished in contemporary design with a local air of pure Roman flavour. The restaurant will offer daily specials prepared by experienced Italian chefs.
Jar Al Kamar is the Sheraton Dammam’s barbeque and sheesha corner, an Arabic tent reminiscent of a bygone era. Open most evenings, weather permitting.
The hotel is also set to open a Wellness Health Club and Spa soon on the ground-floor level and is the largest such facility in Saudi Arabia with separate facilities for ladies and gentlemen. Set in 1500 sqm of newly equipped state-of-the-art beauty and fitness perfection, the spa’s trained therapists and fitness trainers will aim to work together to re-energize and restore well-being amongst their valued clients.
