Mohammed Hadi has been named as director of Marriott Worldwide Sales for the Middle East, Africa and Subcontinent.
Hadi will be responsible for increasing the marketing share for Marriott's brands throughout the region, the hotel group said. He will be focusing on increasing awareness of Marriott's brands and leveraging Marriott's distribution system, which includes a network of sales offices, the GDS (global distribution system) and Marriott's website www.marriott.com. A US graduate of finance and marketing, Hadi joined Marriott in 1997 as GSR Manager in Amman. He followed this by a very successful period as director of sales and marketing in Doha Marriott Gulf Hotel. Meanwhile, Michele Magrone has been named the reservations manager for Marriott Worldwide Sales, Middle East, Africa and Subcontinent. Based in the Marriott World Sales Office (WSO) in Dubai, Magrone will coordinate the day-to-day reservations from the region's call centre. He is responsible for supervising the Marriott toll-free numbers, customer service and liaison with travel agents.
