Emirates has appointed Anthony IG Gonsalves as its first manager for southern India.
Based in Chennai, he will be responsible for the whole region and is currently involved in preparations for the launch of services to Hyderabad from July 1. "I am delighted to join an airline that has set new standards in the air cargo industry. My aim is to use my 17 years experience in freight forwarding and airline cargo operations to establish Emirates as the preferred cargo carrier in the south India region," he said. Gonsalves was previously senior sales manager, South India, for KLM cargo. While with KLM, he successfully established a new station in Bangalore for KLM Cargo.
