Emirates has broken ground on a $5.1 billion engineering complex at Dubai South, set to become the world’s most advanced aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility. Spanning 1.1 million square metres, the project will feature the world’s largest wide-body aircraft hangar complex, capable of servicing 28 aircraft simultaneously, alongside the largest dedicated landing gear workshop globally. Scheduled for completion by 2030, the facility will support Emirates Engineering’s long-term expansion and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub.
