Ritz-Carlton Georgetown announces opening

The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown opened on April 2 at an exclusive new location in the historic Georgetown neighbourhoods.

Developed by Millennium Partners of New York and situated on 3100 South Street, NW between K and M Streets, NW, the 86-room hotel is an integral part of a luxurious, mixed-use complex featuring The Ritz-Carlton Residences, shopping and a 14-screen Loews movie theatre, all clustered around a series of landscaped courtyards.

This mixed-use development is located in the heart of the vibrant Georgetown neighbourhood.

The project's architecture is responsive to the unique texture of Georgetown and includes the restoration of a turn-of-the-century brick structure that serves as the hotel's central lobby, and a towering 130-foot smokestack that was a dramatic symbol of the 1930's waterfront industry.

Individual guests will appreciate the sense of privacy and exclusivity of the 52 oversized deluxe guest rooms and the 29 specially designed suites as well as additional amenities.

Many of the guestrooms and suites at The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown offer impressive views of the cityscape, along with the Potomac River, Kennedy Centre and Rosslyn, Virginia skyline. Interior design blends sleek modern furnishings with harmonious shades of moss green, gold, and rich reds in the draperies, carpets, and bedding.

To accommodate today's wired traveller, all rooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access, an in-room safe with outlet to recharge laptop computers, and portable telephones.

A feature of The Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown is the Day Spa massage and fitness centre featuring one of the world's premier skincare lines, Carita Paris. The Fitness Centre has state-of-the-art equipment plus steam room and sauna. Because of the small size of the spa, guests will enjoy a warm, intimate experience with a sense of exclusivity.
