A London-based travel company has successfully secured $800,000 worth of business after participating in a Trade Partners UK-funded British pavilion at a Saudi Arabia tourism show last year.

The Jeddah Amusement, Leisure and Tourism Exhibition (JALTX) played host to a number of UK firms in April this year and proved to be very successful at widening the UK travel market opportunities. Regent Travel's primary market prior to the visit had been the UAE, but the pavilion gave them the opportunity to showcase their services and explore the Saudi Arabian market in more detail.

Since participating in the pavilion, Regent Travel has made numerous business contacts with Saudi Arabian travellers wishing to visit the UK, offering them a complete ground handling service, from holiday packages, transportation, car hire, guided tours and accommodation.

Ayman Ateem, Regent Travel's regional manager said, "The pavilion provided us with an invaluable opportunity to explore a new and lucrative market for us. We are grateful to Trade Partners UK and especially the work of the commercial team in Jeddah for all their effort."
