KV Raj has been promoted as the new general manager of the 108-room Sur Mercure hotel in Oman.
The four-star property consists of a restaurant, two bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a fully equipped conference room with a capacity of 100. Raj has been working with the Oman Hotels & Tourism Company for the last 22 years. He was earlier the operations manager at the Al Wadi Hotel in Sohar, rooms division manager at the Al Falaj Mercure in Muscat and the front office manager at the Ruwi Novotel in Muscat. The town of Sur is noted for its eco-tourism. The hotel offers special turtle watching packages for groups and schoolchildren.
