LE MERIDIEN Al Aqah will be showcasing its renovation project and its newly renovated rooms at the WTM.

The refurbishment of the luxury resort and spa in Fujairah, UAE, which began last year and will cost Dh25 million ($6.8 million), includes a complete redesign of all rooms, encompassing the new Le Meridien brand design concepts and local touches.

The remainder of rooms will be undergoing renovation in the summer of 2014.

Patrick Antaki, complex general manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah beach resort and Al Maha, says: “We participated at the show in 2012 and are looking forward to heading back. This year we also participated in ITB and Arabian Travel Market, among others.  Active participation in regional and international road-shows and travel exhibitions like WTM allows us to enhance our relationships with tour operators, airline companies and online marketing sites. Connecting with our partners is always top priority followed by using these exhibitions as a platform to share updates and developments at our properties.

“The rest of the year is looking very exciting for us. With the recent room refurbishment certain to see a positive influx of tourists, the future looks rosy on the East Coast. In addition to this, seasonal promotions are always incredibly well-received and we anticipate this popularity to continue during the festive season period thanks to our exciting winter offer.”

The property looks forward to a busy end of the year with a number of activities and events such as the annual Al Aqah Fun Day – the resort’s 11th anniversary celebrations, various charity initiatives and its participation in the eighth UAE Lifeguard Championships.
