Movenpick Hotels & Resorts has appointed a new regional sales and marketing director for the Middle East.
Toufic Tamim, who took charge at the beginning of this year, is based at the group's sales office in Cairo, Movenpick said in a statement. Tamim, a 38-year-old Lebanese citizen, started his career with Gulf Air in Athens prior to joining Hilton International as sales manager and director of sales and marketing for the Abu Dhabi and A1 Ain Hilton hotels. In 1997, he joined Rotana Hotels in Dubai as area director of sales & marketing and was subsequently promoted as the corporate director of marketing in charge of its 17 properties. In his new position, Tamim is responsible for all Movenpick hotels and resorts in the region.
