Indian Airlines has appointed G Dinakaran as its area manager for Bahrain. He succeeds Virender Kapoor who takes up a new assignment with the airline in Mumbai (Bombay).
Dinakaran, who has 31 years experience with the airline, was station manager in Calicut. He holds a bachelor's degree in arts and post-graduate diplomas in business management, public relations, journalism, industrial relations and personnel management, and marketing and sales management. Dinakaran, from Tamil Nadu, started his career in 1971 at Bangalore. He took over as Indian Airlines airport manager in Calicut in 1996 and was promoted to station manager in 1999. Meanwhile, Baldev Kumar, from Delhi, has joined as Indian Airlines' new station manager in Bahrain. He joined the airline in 1972, and was previously working as airport manager in Trivandrum. He will look after operations at the airport.
