Sofitel, the up-market brand of Accor Hotels, is eyeing a shift to Palm Island, a report said.
Christophe Landais, regional director, Sofitel, said that the group is not discarding Palm Beach for expansion plans. "We want our hotels to be a success, so Palm Island is not something that we are discarding," he said. Accor has committed itself to two new properties in Dubai. Due to be completed by next year is the 400-room Novotel and 200-room Ibis at Dubai World Trade Centre site. Accor recently put the up-market Sofitel brand on the City Centre Hotel in Dubai.
