From natural and heritage sites to cultural and religious tourism assets that appeal to a wide range of traveller segments, it’s no surprise the Middle East is experiencing a steady growth in tourism spending. With more regional trips powering this spending, domestic travel is expected to represent the bulk of the travel market.
At the core of this regional tourism nexus is Abu Dhabi, set to attract increasing numbers of visitors thanks to its diverse offerings. From luxury resorts and scenic beaches to historical sites and cultural festivals, the emirate is a prime destination for regional travellers seeking unique and enriching experiences. Recognising the importance of serving this key demographic, and to further advance the Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is enhancing its resources for travel trade professionals across the GCC. To empower and support them, DCT Abu Dhabi has launched an Arabic version of its ‘Experience Abu Dhabi Experts’ e-learning platform. This platform, designed to provide comprehensive destination knowledge, equips travel agents and tour operators with the tools to effectively showcase Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural heritage, iconic landmarks, diverse attractions, and accommodation options. The launch of the Arabic version not only underscores a growing regional trend in the travel market but also reinforces DCT Abu Dhabi’s commitment to elevating Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading global destination, driving its tourism strategy to increase visitor numbers from approximately 24 million in 2023 to 39.3 million by 2030, and ensuring sustained growth in the evolving tourism landscape. Presented in an engaging video and quiz format, the e-learning platform features specialised content across nine modules covering various facets of Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector, allowing participants to create more attractive and customised tourism products. Upon completion of the programme, participants receive a certificate officially recognising them as ‘Experience Abu Dhabi Experts’. This helps bolster their credibility within the industry, in addition to providing them with the knowledge to craft personalised travel itineraries for Abu Dhabi. Not overlooking the wider travel trade, the module is also accessible in 13 languages, including Mandarin, German, Italian, Russian, French, Korean, Spanish, Dutch, Urdu, and Hindi. Travel professionals can register for free at experienceabudhabiexperts.com and access the training content anytime, anywhere through mobile devices, tablets, or desktops, enjoying a convenient and flexible online learning experience. Through continued investment in the ‘Experience Abu Dhabi Experts’ platform, DCT Abu Dhabi reaffirms its commitment to empowering travel partners, while collectively contributing to the emirate’s compelling growth story.
