The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has fully opened the second edition of its acclaimed public light art exhibition, Manar Abu Dhabi, across the emirate. Showcasing 22 site-specific artworks at four key venues, the exhibition offers a major cultural draw for international visitors and tour operators through early 2026.

Following a spectacular debut in Al Ain earlier this month, Manar Abu Dhabi, themed ‘The Light Compass’, now features works by 15 Emirati and international artists from 10 countries, celebrating Abu Dhabi’s diverse natural and urban landscapes.

The exhibition runs through January 4, 2026, with free public entry across all venues.

Anchor location Jubail Island showcases 15 large-scale installations and performances by global artists including DRIFT, Shaikha Al Mazrou, and Iregular. Jubail Island, the presenting partner, is noted for its low construction ratios and natural mangrove park setting.

Al Ain features seven site-specific works along the Al Qattara and Al Jimi Oasis Trails, with contributions from local talents like Maitha Hamdan and Khalid Shafar.

Souq Al Mina hosts the major centrepiece, KAWS:HOLIDAY Abu Dhabi. This luminous installation features the artist’s signature COMPANION figure reclining while lifting a glowing moon, providing a high-profile photo opportunity.

Manar Abu Dhabi complements its installations with a dynamic public programme ideal for enriching visitor itineraries. In collaboration with WE ARE ONA, the exhibition presents an immersive dining experience by guest chef Solemann Haddad of Michelin-starred restaurant Moonrise. The programme includes guided meditations, nature walks and sustainability activities, in partnership with the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi’s Mangrove Initiative. A vibrant line-up of international acts, keynote lectures with featured artists and thought-provoking talks are being offered, with many sessions free of charge.

Manar Abu Dhabi is part of the Public Art Abu Dhabi initiative, DCT Abu Dhabi’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the emirate’s urban fabric through public art and creating new cultural attractions for global travellers.
