Expansions, openings, closures?
New properties opening in Sana'a (340 rooms, March 2006), Taba (434 rooms, early 2006), Gaza (222 units, August), Doha (344 rooms, December).

In renovations and/ or expansions are our properties in Kuwait, Cairo Media City and El Gouna.

Outlook 2006
We look forward to a positive 2006. Results are expected to be in line with 2005’s achievements. Across the GCC all indications point to a positive performance, better than 2005 in occupancies and average rates. Lebanon will unfortunately continue to struggle due to recent political pressures, Egypt is only now beginning to recover from last  year’s Sharm El Sheikh attack, while the Jordan incident caused an initial drop of 20 per cent but our resorts are on their way to recovery.

For the consumer
We are currently busy finalising new partnership with key Middle East and European carriers including Air France/KLM and Al Fursan from Saudi Arabia.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts will also annouce in 2006 the launch of our new spa product and brand. Research is now well underway and the final proposal is expected to be officially launched by the third quarter of 2006. We believe that wellness and spa vacations are considered a relatively new but growing trend worldwide.
