The world’s travelling elite now have a new place to call home in Qatar with the recent unveiling of the largest hotel suites in the capital city

Palatial in every sense of the word, the opulent Presidential Suites, which opened at The St Regis Doha in September, blend extravagance with practical liveability, creating an exquisitely appointed yet sophisticated space to satisfy the diverse requirements of even the most discerning guest.

Enjoying a lofty perch on the luxury hotel’s penthouse, each of the two 720-sq-m suites – one of which has two bedrooms, the other three – is flooded with natural light thanks to panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows affording stunning views over the azure Arabian Gulf.

Two-storey ceilings throughout add to the sense of space and harmony.

Truly majestic, the suites are designed as contemporary versions of a traditional Arabian majlis, but with reminders of the century-old yet timeless St Regis heritage.

Thus, Middle East-influenced bespoke furniture and artwork is effortlessly integrated with classic features such as a private library, flowing staircase and modern office quarters, providing a lavish and at the same time highly functional high living experience quite literally like no other in Qatar.

For the gourmand who demands privacy, whether with family or business associates, an elegant in-suite dining room complete with a long table accommodates 12 individuals, whose every culinary whim is catered for by an expert team selected from The St Regis Doha’s acclaimed kitchens.

Meanwhile, a private butler – an extension of The St Regis signature service moulded in the finest English traditions – is on call around the clock.

Fast becoming a byword for grace and splendour for society’s upper realms, the decadent Presidential Suites at The St Regis Doha are the latest touch of individuality at an award-winning property already considered the city’s finest address.

Recently, the first ‘Jazz at Lincoln Center’ outside the US opened at the property, showcasing the best in live jazz with trumpet virtuoso Wynton Marsalis and his quintet dazzling a houseful of aficionados.

Jazz at Lincoln Center Doha is the first international branded venue of the New York-based Jazz at Lincoln Center, the world’s largest cultural institution devoted exclusively to the uniquely American art form of jazz.

The Doha venue seats 100 guests in an intimate theatrical setting that harkens back to the luxurious Roaring 1920s. This continues in the tradition of The St Regis New York, which hosted premier jazz performers in its rooftop ballroom from the 1920s-1940s. Guests can enjoy a menu of New Orleans-inspired cuisine and refined Jazz Age beverages.

The St Regis Doha’s array of fine dining outlets, meanwhile, have already made a name for themselves on the local and regional gourmet circuit, further complementing the trademark panache and style of a global brand which has been redefining Qatar’s luxury hospitality scene since the early part of this year.

The St Regis Doha is part of Al Gassar Resort located in the emerging commercial heart of the city, West Bay, adjacent to the Pearl Island and close to the Diplomatic Area.

The five-star luxury hotel has 336 guest rooms including 70 suites.

It has an extensive range of leisure facilities including the signature Remède Spa featuring 22 private treatment rooms, and over 4,000 sq m of meeting and conference space, making it the preferred retreat for both leisure and business travellers.
