Rising 305 metres above the glittering Abu Dhabi coastline, the Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers is a dramatic sculptural marvel that has long defined the capital's skyline. Behind its sleek, iconic glass exterior lies a luxury urban resort experience that manages to be both grand and incredibly intimate, especially for those travelling as a family.
Checking in with our toddler in tow, we found the attention to detail and the facilities at The Kids' Club to be truly impeccable, proving that this Forbes Five-Star landmark balances high-octane luxury with genuine family-friendliness. For those seeking an elevated stay, Level 45 serves as an exclusive sanctuary accessible to Club Room and Suite guests, offering a private arrival experience and a dedicated team that ensures a seamless stay from start to finish.
The Kids Club at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers offers a daily, supervised environment from 10am to 8pm for children aged 4 to 12, featuring creative activities like arts, crafts and games. It is complimentary for in-house guests (up to 4 hours daily) and available to external guests for a fee.
The rooms on this level feature bespoke touches that go beyond the already luxurious standard, including Level 45-branded bathrobes and slippers of the highest quality. Throughout the day, the floor transforms into a culinary journey, starting with a refined à la carte breakfast served from 6:30am until 11am. This is followed by a mid-day aperitivo from 11am to 1:30pm, an elegant afternoon tea from 3pm to 5pm, and a sundowner service from 5:30pm to 7:30pm featuring drinks crafted by skilled mixologists.
A particular highlight for us was when we made our way to the Lobby Lounge to experience ‘The Royal Affair’ Afternoon Tea, an incredible setting that perfectly captures the hotel's blend of dramatic design and genuine hospitality. Inspired by the timeless tastes of royal tradition, the experience began with a stylish selection of savoury creations, including a decadent Truffle Brie Roulade, Herb-Infused Chicken paired with caramelised pears, and unique Open-Face Tarts topped with passion-grilled salmon.
The journey continued with a delightful array of authentic sweets, from classic Battenberg and Bakewell Tarts to indulgent Banoffee Pie, English Trifle and Sticky Toffee Pudding, all meticulously crafted with seasonal ingredients and presented with refined elegance, while soaking in the breathtaking views of the Abu Dhabi coastline.
While the architecture is bold and dramatic, the soul of the hotel is surprisingly warm, and our daughter was made to feel just as welcome as the adults. We particularly enjoyed our time at Sole, where we indulged in some of the finest Italian dishes the city has to offer, all while surrounded by the hotel's renowned genuine hospitality.
The accommodation itself is vast, featuring 377 uniquely designed rooms and suites, including Superior, Deluxe, Grand Premier, Executive, Sky Suites, and Tower Suites, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology and premium in-room entertainment. With three outdoor swimming pools and a pristine private beach, there was no shortage of space for family play, while the Conrad Spa provided a serene retreat with its 13 treatment rooms, Rasoul Chamber and Al Hammam Suite. Fitness enthusiasts can utilise the state-of-the-art Conrad Fitness centre, which is fully equipped with Technogym machinery and offers both mixed and ladies-only facilities.
General Manager Savino Leone notes that the property aims to offer more than just luxury, but a sense of belonging and emotionally resonant experiences that linger long after departure. This philosophy extends to their sustainability efforts, such as the Winnow food waste intelligence system and the Unisoap partnership, which ensures partially used soaps are recycled for community redistribution.
The hotel even utilises a hydroponic herb garden on-site, providing plot-to-plate ingredients for their diverse culinary portfolio. Whether you are a Diamond member relaxing in the exclusive Hub lounge, which offers a relaxed space in Nahaam or Rosewater depending on the day, or a family enjoying the award-winning Nahaam 2.0 brunch, the hotel excels at personalisation and intuitive service.
With 12 exceptional restaurants and bars, including the Michelin-recognised José by Pizarro, the reimagined Lebanese flavours of Li Beirut, and the globally acclaimed SUSHISAMBA, the resort is a destination in its own right. It remains a premier resort that proves you do not have to sacrifice sophistication to travel comfortably with a family in the heart of the UAE, conveniently located just 37 km from Abu Dhabi International Airport and minutes from the Presidential Palace.
The property also caters to long-term stays with 199 exquisitely furnished serviced residences, ranging from intimate studios to expansive three-bedroom apartments with floor-to-ceiling ocean views and fully equipped kitchens. For business travellers, the hotel features over 10,000 sq ft of event space, including 13 meeting rooms and the grand 1,920-square-metre Mezzoon ballroom, which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.
