IHG Hotels & Resorts has marked the opening of the 200th Hotel Indigo worldwide, doubling the Luxury & Lifestyle brand’s global footprint since 2019.
The milestone reflects continued demand from guests and
hotel owners, with a further 134 Hotel Indigo properties currently in the
development pipeline.
Since launching in 2004, the brand has built its identity
around creating hotels inspired by the culture, character and history of their
neighbourhoods.
Hotel Indigo now operates across more than 30 countries,
spanning major cities, emerging neighbourhoods and resort destinations.
Recent market entries include the Caribbean, Portugal and
Peru, alongside continued expansion across the Americas, Europe, Middle East,
Asia and Africa, and Greater China.
Recent openings include Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos
Grace Bay, Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes and Hotel Indigo Tijuana Downtown
in Mexico, as well as Hotel Indigo Bangkok Thonglor and Hotel Indigo London K
West Shepherd's Bush.
In the Middle East, Hotel Indigo Riyadh Al Olaya is
scheduled to mark the brand’s debut in Saudi Arabia next year.
The pipeline also includes Hotel Indigo Phuket Nai Yang
Beach and the brand’s first signing in Egypt, which will feature its first
branded residences.
In Greater China, recent and upcoming openings include
properties in Ningbo, Chongqing and Jingdezhen.
Despite its rapid expansion, Hotel Indigo said it remains
focused on its founding concept of delivering stylish, locally inspired hotels
that reflect their surroundings.
Vicki Poulos, Vice President, Luxury & Lifestyle brands at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Reaching 200 open hotels is a significant moment for Hotel Indigo and a testament to the strength of the brand. As The World’s Neighbourhood Hotel, it celebrates how guests can discover, or rediscover, some of the most inspiring and culturally rich neighbourhoods in and outside of our hotels across the world. From the very beginning, Hotel Indigo has been about celebrating the individuality of places, of people and of stories – and for our guests, it isn’t just a place to stay; it’s a reason to travel, a destination all on its own.” -TTN
