Accor Plus expands into the Middle East
Accor Plus CEO Emilie Couton

Accor Plus is bringing its subscription model to the Middle East, marking the brand’s first major expansion beyond its established 30-year footprint in Asia Pacific. Following a pilot in the UAE this past May, the paid loyalty programme is rolling out across nine new regional markets.

Speaking on the launch at ATM, Accor Plus CEO Emilie Couton outlined how the programme bridges everyday lifestyle consumption with international travel.

"Accor Plus is really a business strategy," Couton says. "Our purpose within Accor is to drive frequency, usage and spend through Accor hotels and restaurants. Members come back five times more and spend four times more than non-members. For hotels, that means incremental revenue not only in accommodation, but across dining and lifestyle activities."

With nearly 500,000 members globally, the program functions as an annual paid subscription that delivers immediate benefits across Accor’s portfolio of 47 brands - spanning economy, midscale, and luxury flags such as Sofitel and Raffles. Upon joining, members receive two complimentary room nights, up to 50 percent off dining, a baseline 15 per cent discount on hotel stays, and elite status recognition with room upgrades and flexible check-in privileges.

A core driver of member engagement is the ‘Red Hot Rooms’ initiative, offering destination discounts of up to 50 percent. Couton noted this feature encourages travellers to explore secondary and "dupe" destinations - such as choosing quieter regional gems over crowded hotspots - effectively spreading tourist spend and extending travel budgets.

Importantly for the Middle East market, the subscription is designed for hyper-local utility as well as outbound travel. Members can use their dining and stay benefits in their home cities during the week or for weekend staycations, before applying them to regional or international trips across Asia Pacific and beyond.

"It’s about having people discover locally using neighbourhood restaurants and hotels for staycations, then traveling across the region, and finally heading overseas," Couton explains.

To cater specifically to regional lifestyle habits, Accor Plus enhanced its UAE offering with access vouchers for swimming pools, beach clubs, and fitness facilities. For regional hoteliers, travel advisors and trade partners, the arrival of Accor Plus introduces a high-frequency consumer base primed for recurring spend. By formalising lifestyle loyalty into a high-yield subscription, Accor aims to stimulate both domestic leisure and outbound flows across the Middle East.
