Marriott International has signed an agreement with Townhouse Hotels to add eight hotels and more than 700 rooms to its portfolio in the Netherlands, expanding its presence across five cities and introducing Series by Marriott to the Dutch market.
The deal includes six hotels expected to join Series by
Marriott and two properties joining Tribute Portfolio.
The expansion will strengthen Marriott’s presence in
Amsterdam, Breda and The Hague, while marking its entry into Maastricht and
Eindhoven.
“This agreement represents a significant milestone for
Marriott International in the Netherlands, bringing eight distinctive hotels
into our portfolio and introducing Series by Marriott to the Dutch market,”
said Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa,
Marriott International. “These projects offer a mix of independent hospitality
experiences across sought-after destinations, while also enabling our entry
into Maastricht and Eindhoven. Together with Townhouse Hotels, we look forward
to providing guests with even more compelling travel experiences across the
Netherlands.”
The six Series by Marriott properties will include hotels in
Amsterdam, The Hague, Breda and Maastricht, with room counts ranging from 55 to
106.
The two Tribute Portfolio additions are The ALD Hotel The
Hague, with 91 rooms, and Hotel Mariënhage Eindhoven, offering 134 rooms in a
former monastery complex.
“These agreements reflect our long-term vision for Townhouse
Hotels: a portfolio of distinctive hotels with a strong identity, backed by a
global platform,” said Joost Mees, Managing Partner, European Hotel Capital.
“With our boutique hotels The ALD and Mariënhage joining Tribute Portfolio, and
all Townhouse Hotels joining Series by Marriott, we strengthen the foundation
of the company and position it for sustainable growth in the years ahead. It is
an important milestone in realizing the full potential of Townhouse Hotels, and
one that will create value for our guests, our teams and our partners. We have
full confidence in the management team to lead the way.”
Rick de Jonge, CEO, Townhouse Hotels, added “We are
incredibly proud that our boutique hotels The ALD and Mariënhage are joining
Tribute Portfolio, and that all Townhouse Hotels are becoming part of Series by
Marriott. This is a defining moment for our company and a clear recognition of
what our teams have built. Joining Marriott's global platform opens the door to
new guests, new markets and new opportunities, and marks the start of an
ambitious next chapter.”
