Marriott International has opened its first Marriott Executive Apartments in the Middle East, in Dubai.

Located in the heart of Dubai's commercial district, the complex consists of 172 fully furnished serviced apartments.

Marriott Executive Apartments is Marriott's new upscale, apartment-like accommodation designed to meet the needs of business executives planning to stay in an urban, overseas destination for 30 days or more.

The facility offers travellers a residential-style apartment with hotel-like amenities, full kitchens, security and the availability of short-term leases.

Dubai Marriott Executive Apartments (MEA), owned and developed by Union Properties PJSC, is the first such residential facility to be managed by Marriott International in the Middle East.

The apartments were officially opened by Ed Fuller, president and managing director of Marriott Lodging International, and Anis Al Jallaf, chairman of Union Properties.

Situated in the Skywalk Towers A and B, the apartments overlook Dubai Creek, and are just five minutes from Dubai International Airport.

"We are sure that business people and other visitors will appreciate the pleasant combination of luxury five star accommodation services and the relaxed atmosphere and conveniences of home," said Fuller.

The facility includes 74 one-bedroom apartments, 80 two-bedroom apartments and 18 three-bedroom apartments, all tastefully furnished and fitted with the conveniences one would expect in a 'home away from home'.

The kitchen is fully completed with refrigerator, hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, silverware and glassware, while satellite television, VCR and hi-fi systems enhance the modern dŽcor of the living room and bedrooms.

Business guests will appreciate the large work desk, telephone with voice mail and data port, and administrative assistance from Business Services.

For leisure, residents can take advantage of the beautiful rooftop swimming pool, fully equipped gymnasium, sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Other recreational facilities include a children's outdoor recreational area, a games room and a barbecue area.

Residents' lives are made easier by a range of services, including housekeeping, grocery shopping and dry cleaning.

"We want to make sure that the stress normally associated with relocating to a new city is minimised in every way," said Fuller. Marriott International also operates the JW Marriott Hotel in Dubai.
