Turkey's only international travel and tourism exhibition, EMITT 2001, which will be held this month, has been moved to a new venue.

The exhibition will be held from May 23-28 at one of Istanbul's largest and best exhibition centers, the 5,000 sq m TUYAP Centre, located close to the city's main Taksim Square.

More than 100 companies from 20 countries have registered to take part in the show.

"It will give a great opportunity to the exhibitors to promote their destinations with their special shows - folk dancing, fantastic clothes and music. It should make for a really colourful show," said show manager Hacer Aydin.

Event bosses Ekin have designed this year's EMITT to be a vibrant venue for travel industry deal-brokering right from the lively opening ceremony. Besides changing the venue of the show, the organisers have this year also switched dates. Previously held in February, this year's EMITT will be enjoyed the warmer temperatures of May.

The show has been so successful in previous years that the 2001 show will run for an extra day - five days, instead of four.
