UNITED Airlines is the world’s second largest airline, carrying nearly a quarter of a million passengers per day on 3,100 flights. The airline flies to more than 200 domestic and international destinations in 26 countries on a fleet of over 400 aircraft. United began direct flights to Washington D.C. from Kuwait City in October 2006 and from Dubai in October 2008. United Airlines has five main hubs in the United States, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Washington D.C. and in its home city of Chicago.
The Middle East is an important region for the airline and United’s service from Kuwait and Dubai provides travellers with direct nonstop links into Washington D.C. United is able to offer a wide range of connections to other parts of the United States through its Washington Dulles hub. Another important benefit is that customers travelling from Kuwait and Dubai no longer have to connect through Europe or other parts of the Middle East.
United is transforming its premium cabins with a multi million dollar investment programme to improve the onboard experience. This has resulted in a redesign of its first and business class seats, with United being the only US carrier to offer fully flat beds.
The company has also embarked on an expansion of its international route network which saw the launch of services from Washington D.C. to Beijing, Rome, Geneva and Moscow.
