Bringing the world to Bahrain: a view from BITE ‘07

The Bahrain International Travel Expo is warming up and gathering momentum. So far the response for the hosted buyers programme has been overwhelming, with 544 inquiries from 48 countries being received.

“BITE is focused to promote Bahrain as a MICE destination,” said Abraham John. The target this year is to have 120 MICE buyers.
For the fourth consecutive year, BITE will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, crown prince and chairman of the Bahrain Economic Development Board who will inaugurate the Expo in the afternoon of Wednesday May 14. The show will run from May 15 to 17 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.
BITE offers the ideal forum for international operators from a cross section of travel related businesses. BITE 2008 is the place to generate and explore new leads, expand and consolidate business connections and address specific issues for personal and corporate needs, says John.
Registered companies include 75 main stand exhibitors, and both the exhibitors and hosted buyers come from 40 countries around the world. The organisers are expecting to welcome in excess of 20,000 visitors this year.
The theme of BITE 2008 is “Bringing the World to Bahrain”. Travellers will find a selection of vacation destinations and holiday packages, medical and education options from around the world at the show. Consumers get to meet leading travel and tourism providers, to obtain the latest information about the travel and tourism industry trends, to strengthen and develop business networks with old and new suppliers and to tailor holiday packages to suit the specific needs of all.
BITE will organise for the third consecutive year the “BITE the MICE” hosted buyers Programme for key international MICE planners from around the world.
