The Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano is now taking guests.
It is Four Seasons’ ninth property in the Middle East and its fourth in Egypt.
Standard rates on the hotel’s website are listed as $354 per night for bed and breakfast.
Founded by Alexander the Great, Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt is not only the legendary home of Cleopatra and Julius Ceasar, it is also a vibrant cultured destination perched on the Mediterranean.
The 118-room hotel, in the elite San Stefano area of the city and overlooking the Mediterranean, is a haven of luxury. Rising from the once fabled San Stefano Hotel, Egypt’s oldest establishment of hospitality, Four Seasons Alexandria rekindles San Stefano’s days of glamour and glory. But more than this, its opening marks a new era in tourism for the city which dates back to 331 BC.
Most guest rooms feature private balconies, offering panoramic vistas of the Sea or the glittering city. The rooms and suites set a new benchmark for quality and spaciousness in Alexandria: elegantly decorated in various combinations of greens and blues against a creamy yellow background, the colour scheme reflects a classic European design with a touch of Mediterranean warmth and freshness.
Designed by Pierre Yves Rochon, the rooms’ and suites’ chic decor are enhanced by traditional Egyptian accents and spacious Roman-style marble bathrooms. Varying in size, the deluxe accommodation offers supreme comfort for living, working and gracious entertainment.
High-speed internet connections in the work area of each room and at the bedside allow business people to remain in contact with their offices – a facility which is backed up by the hotel’s 24 hour business centre.
Culinary delights are served at nine outlets, from the hotel’s premier restaurant Byblos with its menus of Lebanese and French cuisine to Fresca Café and Gelateria where café culture takes on a whole new meaning and ice cream delights can be enjoyed. In between, guests can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at Stefano’s, Mediterranean delights at Kala and light snacks and tapas in Bleu. The Lobby Lounge with its all-day dining features live entertainment from the afternoon through to late evening while Le Bar sways to the rhythm of live jazz nightly.
Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria also introduces a new standard of meeting and conference facilities to Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline, with five venues equipped with the comprehensive technological support required for high-level meetings. And, the 1,150 square metre San Stefano Ballroom is set to be the venue of choice for special events, particularly large celebrations such as weddings.
