Budget does the commission three-step

Budget makes car rental convenient for agents and customers

ALL rentals made via the ‘1-2-3 from Budget Rent-A-Car’ dedicated new agent website spell great commissions, according to the company.

The new site allows agents to effortlessly book client rentals, taking a booking fee from the customer at the time of reservation which constitutes their commission.
You can also amend and cancel client bookings using the new trade website, which incorporates technology from its award-winning consumer internet site. It also enables you to print and email a PDF rental confirmation and booking summary, at the click of a mouse, for the customer, who then pays the balance of their rental when picking up their vehicle.
Because ‘1-2-3 from Budget Rent-a-Car’ is web-based, any agent with access to the internet can sign up and use the scheme, with no need for specialist training. Additionally, the website can be co-branded to incorporate the agency logo.
Said Jill Grinsted, Budget’s sales and marketing director, “In the past, agents had to wait several weeks for commission payment – an often time-consuming process. This new product, which primarily targets the leisure travel market, provides agents with better and faster competitive rewards for choosing to book Budget.
“Also, agents aren’t currently being incentivised enough to sell car rental – research suggests that only about 10 per cent of agents offer car hire to clients without being prompted. 1-2-3 from Budget will help agents to maximise the rewards they can secure from selling car rental.”
The easy booking process, she says, should encourage agents to suggest car hire to every customer as well as up-selling to bigger vehicles. “Building a stronger relationship with the trade is a fundamental part of Budget's strategy and we are looking forward to closer ties with agents in the future,” says Grinstead.
