The Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa beckons business travellers

HABTOOR Hospitality’s latest and most ambitious hotel project to date has opened its doors for business, with a unique selling point in sunny Dubai: an end-to-end wireless network.

Spread over an area of nearly 30,000 square metres, the Dh714 million ($195 million) Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa is the latest five star addition to Dubai’s famous and all-embracing Jumeirah Beach.
Says Khalaf Ahmed Al-Habtoor, chairman of Al Habtoor Group, “The Habtoor brand has been synonymous with quality and excellence in service for the last 25 years. This latest addition to the Habtoor Hospitality portfolio further enhances that reputation. From its iconic towers to the immaculate landscaped gardens and private beach, the resort was custom-built to support the latest in design and technology, while embracing a touch of Arabia for the ultimate business or leisure experience.”
The development comprises 442 deluxe rooms and suites with views over the Arabian Gulf, Dubai Marina or the tropical gardens, 13 restaurants and bars, banqueting for over 1,000 guests, an array of water sports and a state of the art spa offering a full range of treatments from aromatherapy to dry flotation.
Guest rooms and suites come in a variety of types to suit every executive’s budget. Club rooms, specifically designed for business travellers, are spacious, with tasteful Arab-style décor. A full suite of business amenities provides seamless communications and an ‘office away from the office’. All rooms have lounge areas and well appointed bathrooms and besides the normal in-room facilities come equipped with 28” flat screened TV, DVD players and wireless internet access as standard.
“The unique aspect is our end-to-end wireless network,” says Arthur De Snoo, general manager, Habtoor Grand Resort & Spa. “Whether relaxing by the pool or working from their rooms, guests can access one of over 230 wireless access points, giving both business and leisure guests’ high speed internet links with total mobility across the property,” he added. In addition, a comprehensive 24-hour business centre comes equipped with up-to-the-minute workstations, Internet access and full secretarial support.
In terms of conference and banqueting facilities, the resort can cater for over 1,000 guests in the luxurious Al Andalous Ballroom and its gardens can accommodate up to 5,000 al fresco. A dedicated boardroom and two additional meeting rooms complete the line-up with meeting space for 80 delegates each. ‘With such a variety of features, business facilities and services the resort is tailormade for individual business visitors and groups and is an ideal incentive destination,” adds De Snoo.
The resort’s signature international fine dining restaurant is called the 25th, appropriately situated on the 25th floor in one of the resort’s towers. Other outlets of note include Mun Chi – far eastern fusion, chilled and chic, Al Marsa – Arabic cuisine, with an aquatic theme, La Pampa – South American cuisine and The Underground – a British-style Pub, themed on London’s famous underground.
The resort is located minutes from the Montgomery and Emirates golf courses and within easy reach of the region’s most spectacular shopping centres. It also has a myriad of activities with three swimming pools, a poolside Jacuzzi, two floodlit tennis courts, two squash courts, an extensive gym and fitness studio, beach volleyball court, and a water sports centre.
For those searching for something more sedate, the Elixir Spa and Health Club, is equipped with six designer treatment rooms, offering more than a dozen different treatments, a dry float room, manicure and pedicure stations, a sunless tanning booth, tropical rain and cold fog showers and relaxation areas.
