THE Ramada International University (RIU), launched earlier this year, has been feted by students and industry alike.
The programme has thus far offered convenient training for general managers at over 200 hotel locations in four languages – English, Mandarin, German and Swedish. “RIU is our answer to a rapidly growing portfolio – from 26 hotels to 200 in less than four years – and the need to provide our managers and associates with knowledge and training they need to be successful,” says Daniel Dannenmann, vice-president of global training, quality assurance and brand standards.
One-third of associate training focuses on brand-specific tools and systems offered. The remainder explores topics such as leadership characteristics, change management, team building and empowerment. All of the training content is built around supporting Ramada International’s six core pillars of guest satisfaction.
