Hawar Resort Hotel ... geared up

BAHRAIN’S Hawar Resort Hotel is  expecting to receive at least 10,000 visitors, half of them from other GCC countries, during the summer months.

The resort has launched a major Summer Festival, in co-ordination with Batelco, which started on July 1.
Hundreds of families from other Gulf countries have already booked the hotel rooms for their summer break, said Hawar Resort general manager Sujay Uchil.
The resort has seen rise in the number of visitors by over 20 per cent compared to last year to date, he revealed. “Last year, we had more than 6,000 visitors during the months of July and August out of whom 50 per cent were from GCC and the rest were Bahraini families visiting Hawar Islands.”
Uchil described last year’s Summer Carnival as a ‘stupendous success’. “For this year’s Hawar Resort-Batelco Summer Festival, we have lined up several treats for everyone in the family,” he said. “We are happy that Batelco has joined as the lead sponsor of the festival, which will run until August 31. With the summer vacation and heat outdoors, families need something exciting to do indoors, if possible. The summer package suitably answers the needs of our guests.”
The limitless fun and activities come completely free of charge for every guest, said Uchil.  “The celebration isn’t only on weekends or holidays but is available on each day of the week for two months of the summer vacation. Guests will be welcomed by the festival mascots -- Beach Bunny and Yo Yo the clown. The hotel lobby will be converted into the leisure and fun zone, where everyone can have free henna and face painting done.
“Festive music will be played by a DJ. Also, there are several competitions and fun events, including the bouncing castle.”
This summer, the hotel will also organise various activities for kids to keep them occupied during their stay by conducting various competitions, like drawing, pot painting and kite making, to name a few, said Uchil.
The hotel operates three 20-seater speedboats. Daily coach transportation to the resort’s private jetty at Ad Dur is also available.
