Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, announces that Condor, one of Germany’s established leisure and scheduled carriers, will commence operations from the Hungarian capital starting 1 May 2026.
The airline will launch a new Budapest–Frankfurt route, operating three times daily, and adding valuable capacity and flexibility on this key European link.
Condor will operate the route using its A320 fleet, with a planned seat capacity of 180 passengers per flight. This strategic expansion complements Lufthansa’s existing service to Frankfurt and will boost overall connectivity between Budapest and Germany’s financial hub to more than 10,000 weekly departing seats.
The addition of this new service further strengthens Budapest Airport’s already robust network to Germany. With direct flights to 11 destinations across Germany, this move underscores the country’s significance as Budapest’s third-largest direct seat market.
Markus Klaushofer, CCO, Budapest Airport, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Condor to our growing family of airline partners. This new service to Frankfurt not only enhances choice and frequency for our passengers but also supports deeper business and tourism ties between Hungary and Germany. Condor’s entry into the market demonstrates strong confidence in Budapest’s connectivity and continued growth as a major airport in the region.” -TradeArabia News Service
