This winter, luxury destination management company (DMC) Roam will be offering its first ever ‘Signature Saudi’ tour package for travellers in the Kingdom.
This nine-day itinerary will include luxurious culinary experiences at Raoul’s and Spago by Wolfgang Puck; dolphin spotting with an expert marine biologist; and a private tour of UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra, with its 110 remarkably preserved tombs.

Luxury DMC Roam was founded in March this year with existing expertise from parent companies Cool Inc and Pelorus – both trailblazers for world-class luxury lifestyle experiences. The company offers inbound tour operations, brand activations and events management, curated tourism products, and its own fleet of luxury vehicles for both B2B and B2C requirements.

We spoke to Stuart McNair, Managing Director, for a better understanding into Saudi Arabia’s first of its kind DMC and how they have been operating successfully in the relatively greenfield tourism destination.

“Our core objective to be an enabler and innovator of luxury travel in Saudi Arabia. We want to turn exceptional and undiscovered places into unforgettable experiences through our core business pillars of wellness, gastronomy, heritage, culture, and of course, adventure.

“We utilise the established relationships of Cool Inc and Pelorus to give our customers unique access to a range of luxury experiences. We have a best-in-class portfolio of brands and locally developed concepts that set us apart; with the ability to tailor each experience to meet the needs of our customers.

“We offer unparalleled experiences that include private yacht tours across the Red Sea, opening up some of the world’s best diving locations, and unique dining experiences in the latest fine-dining restaurants to enter Saudi Arabia, with behind-the-scenes access for our VIPs.

“Our heritage, complemented by core services spanning tourism, events, and VIP guest management, positions us to cater to the needs of both the adventurous traveller and emerging business ventures, offering comprehensive on-the-ground support within the Kingdom.”

McNair further explains: “We develop our own in-house solutions to navigate the challenges we face as a tourism business. For example, by managing our own fleet of cars, we can control the quality of our transfers. We are also developing our mobile camp, which will be bringing luxury accommodation to regions otherwise without it. We work with local craftsmen and Saudi talent to highlight the up-and-coming industries in the Kingdom such as art and music. Roam will also be operating its own experiences, utilising the latest green technology.”

While the domestic and GCC markets have been the key focus in 2023, the next year will see Roam develop products that will be better suited to the international traveller. A case in point is the new half-day desert experience, which will be launched this month. Located just outside of Riyadh, the journey promises to be a true Bedouin experience that will allow guests to experience the Saudi desert when visiting Riyadh from the GCC for a weekend, McNair tells us.
