The 280-room hotel has planned some "summer heat" of their own to bring in more tourists. According to the director of sales Dean Huntsman, "the "Special Summer" offer aims to promote an affordable stay and an opportunity to Beat the Heat this summer".

Commenting on business at the hotel, he said, "January and February of this year were very strong. However, because of the impact of war, business levels dropped significantly. Traditionally the leisure guests from Europe were reluctant to travel, however we have focused more to the GCC markets. We can now see an influx of travelers following the end of the war and are looking forward to a good season from September."

Huntsman also reiterated that "the key factor for international tourism is one of peace and security, as otherwise tourists will not come. We must do more to ensure the world understands what a gem Oman is and that it is an oasis of peace in the Gulf. Oman is striving forward in the development of tourism which will in turn ensure that it is firmly placed on the world tourism map as a destination to visit and to be enjoyed."

The hotel has introduced "Ocean and Earth" theme nights at the Mokha Café. For those who lunch at Mokha Café, a complimentary day pass to use the pool is being given out.

The hotel has also introduced the "Weekend Retreat" package for Oman residents valid until September 30, 2003 for two persons plus free stay for two children up to 12 years when sharing parent's room. The stay in a deluxe single or double room inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner is RO63 all-inclusive.

In addition, a summer promotion offers guests a range of complimentary amenities during their stay until August 31, 2003. This includes early check-in and late check-out, access to Club Olympus pool, gym and spa. Similarly, children up to 12 years of age stay free of charge when sharing parent's room and receive 50 per cent discount on all meals plus free enrollment into the Gold Passport. The 280-room hotel is reportedly the largest hotel in Muscat and also offers Grand Club floors.

A range of meeting rooms totalling 1,000 square metres is available. The Afrah Ballroom can seat up to 700 guests and is divisible into three separate rooms. A pre-function area, accommodating up to 200 people is located adjacent to it.
