A 'first' for the UAE hospitality industry, a package totally compiled by guests, has been introduced by the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort and Towers.
"This is a ground-breaking initiative which will attract more leisure tourists and business travellers to Abu Dhabi," says the hotel's general manager, Robert van Meerendonk. The five-star property's innovative Rest and Relaxation (R&R) package permits guests to choose various services that they actually want when they stay at a hotel. Wael Rashed, Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort and Towers Marketing Manager, says visitors to the UAE capital can now take advantage of "a unique, tailor-made holiday." Rashed says: "Some people want breakfast in bed, others want a haircut, a cigar, use of the Internet or a round of golf. We ensure our guests are not paying for services they don't need." The R&R package at the beachfront hotel starts at Dh400 with an extra Dh 50 for full buffet breakfast. Guests then have the opportunity to select four preferred items from a list of 16. These include cocktails, fitness assessments, cigars, internet access, massage, manicure, pressing of clothes, haircuts and pedicure. Special rates are available to add golf, city tours and desert safaris to the holiday package. Rashed says: "With R&R, guests can have a made-to-order dream holiday - just the way they like it. A husband might want to play golf in the afternoon while the wife might opt for a massage, pedicure and coiffeur. They can design our R&R package to their tastes and requirements. "Tourism is increasing to Abu Dhabi, particularly in the family market. We expect the R&R package to be very popular with families because it broadens the scope of their holiday while ensuring it remains good value. It will make a major impact on the market. "Children are also well catered to with the R&R package. This includes the use of Game Boy and three hours at the Bizziwizz Club for kids. Basically, whatever mum, dad and the kids require during a holiday break the Sheraton Abu Dhabi's new tailor-made package has it covered."
