Emirates airline ... service enhancements

Dubai-based Emirates airline has announced plans to increase frequency and enhance its services to some key destinations around the world.

The airline will launch a second daily service from Dubai International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport in the US, starting on July 1.

The second Los Angeles flight will be operated with an Emirates’ Airbus A380-800ULR aircraft in a three-class configuration with 14 private suites in first class, 76 seats in business class and 401 seats in economy class. The new service will supplement the current EK215 Airbus A380-800 flight.

Emirates will upgrade its Dubai – Washington DC service with the introduction of its flagship Airbus A380 on the route beginning this month (February 1).

Replacing the existing Boeing 777-300ER used on this route, the A380 will serve the strong customer demand and restore route capacity following United Airlines’ withdrawal from the Washington DC – Dubai route. The aircraft upgauge will also offer consumers travelling on the route the unique experience of Emirates’ flagship A380 aircraft.

Sir Tim Clark, president, Emirates airline, said: 'Our service to Washington DC has been one of our most successful and profitable routes, with high demand across all cabin classes. Despite strong seat load factors, United has made the decision to withdraw from the route. The additional seats offered by our A380 will therefore restore capacity on the route, and ensure that American consumers and international travellers wishing to visit DC for business or leisure will continue to be served. We look forward to offering the award-winning Emirates A380 experience to our customers, and to continue contributing to the economic success of the city and its surrounding regions.'

Emirates has also announced plans to expand its operation in Switzerland with the addition of a second daily service to Geneva effective June 1. The new flight will double capacity on the route. The new flight will be operated by a state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, with eight private suites in first class, 42 lie-flat seats in business class, and 310 spacious seats in economy class. Meanwhile, Emirates will launch a daily circular service from Dubai to Cebu and Clark in the Philippines, starting March 30. Utilising a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, this new route will strengthen international connectivity to two of the Philippines’ fastest-growing international hubs.
