Hyatt goes to Uzbekistan

HYATT Hotels Corporation has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with State Unitary Enterprise (Poytaht Qurilish va Xizmat) for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, scheduled to open in January 2015.

The hotel will offer 300 spacious guestrooms, including 44 suites, two restaurants, a bar and lounge, more than 1,200 sq m of meeting facilities including a ballroom, and a spa and fitness club. The hotel will be designed to become the preferred venue for the international conferences and festivals for which Tashkent has long become a popular destination.

Traders Hotel opens in Johor

SHANGRI-LA Hotels and Resorts debuted its third Traders hotel in Malaysia with the opening of the 283-room Traders Hotel, Puteri Harbour, Johor, Malaysia on June 1, 2013.

The development, set in the state of Johor (Malay for jewel) on the southern tip of the Malaysia peninsula, is a scenic 20-minute car ride from downtown Singapore via “The Causeway” and within hours on the North-South highway from Kuala Lumpur.

As an opening promotion, Traders Hotel, Puteri Harbour, Johor, Malaysia is offering an overnight stay in a Deluxe Room at MYR380 ($121), which is subject to prevailing tax and service charge and includes breakfast buffet for two people.

A stay on the Traders Club floor ensures the needs of savvy travellers are cared for, and provides use of a private lounge with breakfast, refreshments and evening cocktails; personalised check-in and check-out; meeting areas and a Club concierge.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Alexandria

New Mice centre at Radisson Alexandria

CARLSON Rezidor Hotel Group will launch a new convention centre to Radisson Blu Hotel, Alexandria. Set to open in June 2014, the new 3,600 sq m centre will complement the hotel’s existing 500 sq m of meeting space making it one of the largest facilities of its kind in Egypt. The new-build centre, which covers two floors, will include a 2,500 sq m ballroom along with five flexible meeting rooms, a bride’s room and an indoor car park. It will be fully supported by catering facilities with the ability to cater for receptions, weddings, conferences or board meetings.

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai gets Saray Spa

THE stunning 4,300-sq-m Saray Spa at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is the latest addition to Marriott International’s impressive spa portfolio.
