THE five-star Salalah Marriott Resort in the Dhofar Region in Southern Oman looks back on two successful years of operation on the occasion of its second anniversary on March 24, 2012.
The 237-room resort offers its guests a choice of spacious and well-appointed rooms within the main building and 51 beach side chalets including studios as well as one-and two-bedroom configurations. After two years of successful operation, the Salalah Marriott Resort is now a well-established location for leisure and cultural activities of the local community, as well as a preferred meeting and event destination in the Dhofar Region.
“We can look back on a very successful second year of operation and it fulfills me with great pleasure to see this place growing every year stronger in the market,” says Ahmed El-Meligui, director of sales and marketing of the Salalah Marriott Resort.
“Through the continuous support and the dedication of the whole team, the management and the owning company, Salalah Marriott Resort has itself well positioned in the market. We were able to increase our total number of rooms sold by 10 per cent from 2010 to 2011 which is a great success, considering the mainly compressed market of the Dhofar Region.
Apart from the economical successes, the resort has also engaged in many social activities. As part of Marriott’s “Spirit to Serve” culture, the Salalah Marriott Resort has organized in 2011 Beach clean-ups, educational events with local schools and institutions and a recycling campaign, to show its true appreciation and to contribute its share to the local community of Mirbat.
“We pride ourselves with being the only Marriott Resort in the Sultanate and we always strive to offer our guests a complete holiday experience in a place where luxury is inspired by nature. Or exceptional facilities in a stunning natural setting truly set us apart from the competition, and we are looking confidently and with enthusiasm into the future and will certainly continue to provide an unmatched level of luxury and service to Oman,” concludes El-Meligui.
On the occasion of the second anniversary, the resort has sliced its regular rates by 20 per cent and offers an exciting ‘Escape! Dining Package’ to all its guests. For only OMR56 ($145) this half board promotion includes an overnight stay in a single or double deluxe room, breakfast and dinner in the Sumhuram Restaurant and 17 per cent taxes and service charges. The offer is valid until June 30.
